Retro Game Night II

Retro Game Night II was held over Halloween weekend. Generously hosted by J-Nass, the setup was similar as Retro I, except we set up the SNES on the overhead projector and replaced the VecTrex with a Segas Genesis, including the 32-bit attachment. Again, the Atari 2600 got heavy useage, followed by the Atari 5200 (vs. C-64 from Retro Night I). There were many highlights to the night:

  • Fast Food dominating on the Atari 2600 and Game Night II overall
  • Epic sessions of Warlords on Atari 2600
  • J-Nass beating Ghostbusters on C-64
  • Completing Bruce Lee on C-64
  • Mark and I playing Mario Brothers on Atari 5200
  • Watching CC play Fast Food and Terminator2: the Arcade Game on Sega Genesis
  • Seeing footage of myself playing Fast Food. Embarrassingly hilarious

Even before Retro Night II was coming to a close, MB and I were already planning for Retro Night III. Unfortunately, due to the upcoming holiday season, we decided to wait until January 2006 for Retro Night III. J-Nass, who I mentioned earlier has hosted the past two Retro Nights, is moving to North Carolina in two weeks. Not only did we lose a primo hangout, we will miss a great pal and the Upper Valley’s Hebrew Hammer. Sukimon and all Thai-Scot-Irishmen tip their hats to you, J-Nass. We wish you well.

CC, dressed as Zelda, playing Terminator2 on Sega Genesis with the 32-bit expansion port.

CC popping caps in Terminators’ asses. She was killin’ it, until she decided to stop playing because her arm was getting tired from holding the lightgun controller for so long.

Playing video games. Look at those happy faces

Look at those smiles!
